Samson’s Story
Meet Samson.
When Samson first arrived at HSNEGA, we knew he would have no issue finding a FURever home. Affectionate, handsome, loyal, and charming… who wouldn’t fall in love with this sweet face?
Or so we thought…
Unfortunately for Samson, nobody was able to see the qualities that made him such a perfect pet due to his extreme kennel anxiety. When entering a shelter, rescues often find themselves having to quickly adapt to an environment they’ve never experienced before. One filled with loud noises, strange people, small living quarters, and new or stressful situations. It’s enough to drive anyone mad!
In Samson‘s case, he coped by self-harming; ripping out nails, biting his tongue, and scratching his face. This once handsome dog began to resemble something you might find in a horror movie.
It’s for dogs like Samson that Adoption Angels are so important. When you donate to HSNEGA, you ensure homeless animals in our community will get the care and love they need until they find their forever homes.
