Humane Society of Northeast Georgia Partners with Augusta Animal Services
New partnership aims to increase lifesaving efforts across the state of Georgia

The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) is excited to announce its partnership with Augusta Animal Services in an effort to increase lifesaving in Augusta-Richmond County. To kickstart their partnership, HSNEGA is implementing a Foster Program with the support of local volunteers who agree to foster animals in their homes for short periods of time. The long-term goal for the Humane Society is to expand services to include a full-service shelter and adoption center as well as low-cost veterinary programs.

Augusta-Richmond County has an animal overpopulation crisis leaving the shelter extremely overcrowded, and that is a big problem. Augusta is my hometown and even though I don’t live here any longer, I still consider it home.  This is my community and the animal problem is a community problem.  I am excited to partner with Augusta Animal Services and the Augusta-Richmond County community to help contribute to the solution,” Allison Mayfield, HSNEGA’s Chief Executive Officer, said.

To help with their efforts, HSNEGA has recruited and hired Teddy Tripp as the new Augusta Operations Director for HSNEGA’s Augusta Operations. Teddy has 10 years of experience in Community Outreach and Project Management.

“The partnership with Augusta Animal Services is one of many goals set by HSNEGA as a part of their ‘Better Together’ initiative, which aims at making a positive impact by providing essential resources and education to facilities throughout the state of Georgia,” Tripp said.

“I am so excited to bring Teddy on board to oversee this project.  He brings a wealth of knowledge and will be a great asset not only to our team, but to the animals… and people of Augusta-Richmond County,” Mayfield said.

In the end, this new partnership will not only increase lifesaving in Augusta-Richmond County but will elevate HSNEGAs efforts to rescue and advocate for those animals in the state who have no voice of their own and no one else to stand by their side.
